Adam A Torres, M.M.

Adam A Torres has established himself as an integral musician within the arts scene of Colorado and beyond. Through his work as a conductor, pianist, educator, and administrator, and even music producer, Torres' varied roles serve many tens of thousands of patrons annually. Adam maintains an active profile as an artist, serving as the Principal Conductor for Hyperprism Music and Loveland Opera Theatre, Assistant Conductor for Denver Young Artists Orchestra and Fort Collins Symphony, Acting Principal Keyboard with Cheyenne Symphony, Rehearsal Pianist with Opera Fort Collins, Special Assistant Professor of Music at Colorado State University and Music Director for Zion Lutheran Church. Other recent and upcoming engagements as conductor include work with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, the Fort Collins Health and Wellness Orchestra, and his conducting debuts with the Astoria Symphony and Opera Fort Collins.
Previous appointments and guest conducting have led Torres to a variety of other roles and organizations, such as Opera Orvieto, The Nuova Musica Project, Alpharetta Symphony, Agnes Scott College, Bas Bleu, Angelo Civic Theatre, West Texas Ice House Brass Band, Angelo State University Wind Ensemble, Colorado Springs Conservatory, and even an NCAA March Madness appearance as the Acting Director for the Colorado State University Pep Band.
Torres' career displays his wide-ranging skill set, whether on the podium, behind a piano, behind the scenes, or in the classroom. Aside from his artistry as a conductor and pianist, Torres has appeared with the Colorado Symphony and Denver Young Artists Orchestra narrating a performance of Gregory Smith's The Animated Orchestra, a role later reprised with the Lakewood Symphony. Torres has served as Producer for a number of concerts and does work as a consultant for concert productions. Recent highlights of this work include the Annual Spectacular Holiday Concerts at Colorado State University and Ein Feste Burg, a choral and orchestral concert through Zion Lutheran Church of Loveland created in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
Torres also serves on faculty of Colorado State University's School of Music, Theater, and Dance, specializing in online curriculum, Beginning Conducting, and Music Appreciation. He is heavily involved with the CSU Summer Residency Master of Music Program in Music Education (Conducting Emphasis) Program where he serves as Program Coordinator, Chorusmaster, and plays piano in a variety of practicums and in rehearsals / performances of the annually staged production conducted by students in this program. During his time at CSU, Adam has also served as the sabbatical replacement for the University Orchestra and has conducted several operas through the Charles & Reta Ralph Opera Center. Torres is extremely committed to sharing his love of music with future generations of performers and audience makers and is passionate about music education for students of all ages and walks of life.
